Coloring Tip: Instead of using a single blue crayon to fill in the ponds and streams, encourage your students or children to layer different shades. Start with a light blue base, then add darker teal or navy streaks to show the direction the water is flowing. Most importantly, remind them to leave small patches of the paper completely blank—this creates the illusion of white seafoam and sparkling sunlight catching the ripples!

Coloring Tip: Coloring glass is a fantastic exercise in understanding light. To make jars and milk bottles look round and transparent, use a very light touch with a cool grey or pale blue pencil. Draw two or three sharp, diagonal lines across the surface to mimic a bright window glare. When coloring the objects inside the jar—like the tiny cherry blossom tree or the cozy bottle home—color them with slightly softer or lighter pressure than the flowers on the outside. This subtle trick fools the eye into seeing a layer of glass between the viewer and the object!

Coloring Tip: For these creative pages, talk to your kids about contrasting colors.
