We are thrilled to share a fresh batch of coloring pages that merge vintage, oversized objects with lush, blooming ecosystems. In this update, we’ve introduced several enchanting pages where giant objects have been beautifully reclaimed by spring meadows.
The Magical Rotary Telephone House and the Rain Barrel House Garden are perfect examples of how man-made architecture and nature intertwine in our hidden worlds.
Coloring Tip - Vibrant Botanicals: To make the daffodils and tulips stand out against the wooden and plastic textures of the objects, encourage kids to use contrasting color temperatures. Try warm, sunny yellows and bright reds for the flower petals, and cool, deep greens for the stems and vines. Layering two different shades of green will give the leaves a lush, realistic depth!
Water features add a wonderful sense of calm and movement to any coloring page. Our new update includes beautiful aquatic elements, most notably the Magical Grand Piano Waterfall.
Coloring Tip - Flowing Water: Coloring water can be a fun challenge! Instead of using a single solid blue, suggest blending light blue, teal, and even a touch of purple. Remind your students or children to leave thin, squiggly white spaces near the bottom of the waterfall to represent crashing foam and splashing droplets.
Spring wouldn't be complete without pollinators! The Magical Butterfly Mailbox brings a sense of joyful movement to the meadow as a flock of butterflies flutters out of the open mail slot.
Coloring Tip - Dynamic Swarms: When coloring a group of butterflies, children can either make them a unified flock using a single color palette (like bright Monarch oranges and blacks) or create a rainbow swarm where every single butterfly is unique. Using bright gel pens or markers for the butterfly wings can help them stand out beautifully against the natural greens of the meadow.
One of our favorite new themes in Vol. 2 is the concept of enclosed magical terrariums. The Magical Lightbulb Terrarium shrinks a sprawling forest into a tiny, fragile glass enclosure.
Coloring Tip - The Illusion of Glass: How do you color something clear? To create a glass effect on the lightbulb, lightly shade the outer curved edges with a pale, icy blue or grey. Add a few bold, diagonal white lines (using a white gel pen, or by simply leaving the paper blank) across the center to create the illusion of a reflective shine.
