In our new Whimsical Gramophone House Forest page, a giant antique record player has become a cozy woodland home. To make the brass horn look shiny and metallic, encourage your child to blend different shades of yellow, gold, and orange. Adding a touch of light brown in the shaded areas and leaving a bright white streak down the middle will create a convincing metallic shine!
The Magical Lightbulb Terrarium is a stunning page that requires a delicate touch. Coloring glass can be tricky, but it’s incredibly rewarding! Teach kids the "reflection trick": lightly shade the edges of the lightbulb with pale blues and greys, but leave the center mostly white. This creates the illusion of a curved, transparent glass surface protecting the miniature blooming forest inside.
Who wouldn't want to live next to the Magical Grand Piano Waterfall? When coloring the water cascading down the piano keys, kids can experiment with movement. Instead of coloring the waterfall with a solid block of blue, suggest using long, vertical strokes.
